JMG Delivers Integrated Power, Cooling and Electrical Upgrade for Quick Buy Supermarket in Kano
JMG has completed a fully integrated power, cooling and electrical engineering upgrade for Quick Buy Supermarket in Kano, delivering a turnkey solution designed to guarantee operational reliability, energy efficiency and long-term stability.
The project combined power generation, HVAC and electrical infrastructure into a single, coordinated installation, underscoring JMG’s capacity to execute complex, multi-division engineering solutions under one umbrella.
Quick Buy Supermarket required a technically capable partner to address power reliability challenges, intensive cooling demands and electrical safety requirements simultaneously. Rather than engaging multiple contractors, the supermarket selected JMG to deliver an end-to-end solution that ensures seamless operations and future-ready infrastructure.
At the heart of the project, JMG POWER installed a fully synchronised power generation system comprising two FG Wilson 550kVA generators and one FG Wilson P330kVA generator, integrated with the public grid. The configuration now provides stable, uninterrupted power to support the supermarket’s 24-hour operations, including lighting, refrigeration, point-of-sale systems and other critical equipment.
The power solution was complemented by a comprehensive HVAC installation delivered by JMG CLIMA, the company’s climate solutions division. The cooling system includes Trane rooftop units for large-area coverage, alongside ducted systems, VRF technology, standing units, cassette units and 14 inverter split air-conditioning units. These were deployed to ensure flexible, energy-efficient cooling across different zones of the supermarket.
In addition, extractor-integrated ducting and zoning controls were incorporated to optimise airflow and maintain consistent indoor temperatures throughout the facility, enhancing comfort for both customers and staff.
JMG ELECTRA, the company’s electrical division, completed the project with a new electrical installation designed to improve safety, load stability and long-term performance. The upgraded electrical backbone now supports the integrated power and cooling systems with reduced fluctuations and a more robust supply architecture capable of accommodating future expansion.
Speaking on the project, the Branch Manager of JMG Kano, Nader Allam, said the installation reflects the company’s core strength. “Quick Buy’s project highlights what makes JMG unique — the ability to combine power, cooling and electrical expertise into one complete, coordinated solution. It is a true turnkey installation that strengthens reliability and prepares the supermarket for long-term growth,” he said.
With the project fully delivered, Quick Buy Supermarket now benefits from round-the-clock operational continuity, improved energy efficiency, enhanced indoor comfort and a safer electrical network, all provided by a single engineering partner.
The Kano installation adds to JMG’s growing portfolio of large-scale, multi-technology projects across Nigeria, reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of power generation solutions, HVAC systems, solar power, air compressors, electrical systems, elevators and escalators for commercial and industrial clients nationwide.
