Ogunsan Commends Lagos Command and Control Centre, Reaffirms LSSTF’s Support for Emergency Response

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has commended the Lagos State Command and Control Centre (LSCCC) for its professionalism, operational efficiency and critical role in safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Dr. Ogunsan gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the ultra-modern facility, where he was received by the General Manager, Mr. Femi K. Giwa, alongside members of the centre’s senior management team. The visit forms part of the LSSTF leadership’s ongoing engagement with key security and emergency response institutions in Lagos State.

Owned by the Lagos State Government, the Command and Control Centre serves as the hub of emergency management in Nigeria’s commercial capital. The facility houses the emergency control room that coordinates Lagos’ two emergency helplines, 767 and 112, which operate кругл-the-clock to receive and manage distress calls from residents and visitors.

From the centre, emergency incidents are assessed, prioritised and promptly dispatched to relevant response agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State Taskforce, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), among other first responders. This integrated system ensures coordinated, timely and life-saving interventions across the state.

While touring the facility, Dr. Ogunsan expressed satisfaction with the centre’s operational standards, technological infrastructure and human capacity. He praised the service agents for their composure under pressure, prompt handling of emergencies and professionalism in managing high-volume and high-stress situations.

“The efficiency of this Centre reflects Lagos State’s commitment to proactive governance and citizen safety,” Dr. Ogunsan said. “What we have seen here is a blend of technology, discipline and dedication to service. These officers are the silent guardians behind many lives saved daily.”

He reaffirmed the LSSTF’s commitment to strengthening the operational capacity of the Command and Control Centre, assuring the management of continued institutional support. According to him, the Fund remains steadfast in its mandate to mobilise resources from the public and private sectors to enhance security infrastructure and support frontline agencies across Lagos State.

The visit comes shortly after the LSSTF presented an operational vehicle to the Command and Control Centre, a move seen as part of strategic efforts to improve mobility, coordination and response effectiveness.

In his remarks, Mr. Giwa appreciated the LSSTF for its consistent interventions, describing the Fund as a reliable partner in Lagos State’s security and emergency response framework. He noted that sustained support would further strengthen service delivery and boost public confidence in the state’s emergency management system.

As Lagos continues its evolution into a smart city, the Command and Control Centre—alongside other critical security installations such as the recently activated facility at the Third Mainland Bridge—remains central to ensuring public safety, resilience and rapid emergency response in an increasingly complex urban environment.
