Rite Foods Reaffirms Commitment to Education on International Day of Education
Rite Foods Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting access to quality education and sustainable learning as the world marks the International Day of Education.
In a statement commemorating the global observance, the Nigerian food and beverage company said it continues to support education through targeted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at pupils in public primary schools within underserved communities. The company described education as a key driver of national development, social inclusion and long-term economic growth.
As part of its education-focused outreach, Rite Foods distributed essential learning materials, including school bags and exercise books, to pupils in selected public schools across Lagos and Ogun states. The initiative, the company noted, is designed to ease learning challenges, encourage school attendance and boost academic engagement among young learners.
A notable aspect of the programme is its emphasis on sustainability. The school bags provided to pupils were produced from recycled post-consumer packaging waste generated from Rite Foods’ product lines, including Fearless Energy Drinks, Bigi Soft Drinks and Water, as well as sausage packaging. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and the promotion of circular economy practices.
Beyond material support, each school visit featured interactive learning sessions and practical demonstrations focused on recycling and environmental stewardship, aimed at instilling sustainability values and responsible consumption habits in pupils from an early age.
Commenting on the initiative, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Ekuma Eze, said education remains central to the company’s sustainability philosophy.
“Education is the foundation upon which sustainable societies are built. At Rite Foods, we are committed to supporting learning initiatives that improve access to education while also promoting responsible citizenship and environmental consciousness,” Eze said.
He added that the company’s education interventions go beyond donations, focusing on empowering young minds with the values, confidence and opportunities needed to succeed in a changing world.
As the International Day of Education is observed globally, Rite Foods stated that it remains committed to leveraging its resources and partnerships to support education, sustainability and community development in the communities where it operates.
