 AMATO Launches 2026 Sticker, Makes 2025 Version Invalid

The Association of Maritime Truck Owners  (AMATO) has launched its 2026 Annual Sticker for truck operators in Lagos State  and across the country, declaring the 2025 sticker invalid.

The new sticker, priced at ₦10,000 per pair, was unveiled on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Association’s National Secretariat in Apapa. The event was attended by the National President, Chief Remi Ogungbemi, alongside other senior officials of the body.

AMATO said the 2026 sticker serves as an official identification pass for members and is a prerequisite for accessing the NTVOA Prompt Tow-to-Safety rescue service — an initiative championed by the association’s leadership.

According to the association, the rescue scheme is aimed at shielding truck owners and drivers from arbitrary and excessive towing charges, which have reportedly increased in recent times, particularly during vehicle breakdowns.

Beyond access to towing support, the sticker is also designed to enhance visibility for members and offer a layer of protection against harassment and extortion by both state and non-state actors.

The association urged all members to obtain the 2026 sticker promptly and complete the required registration forms at the secretariat to facilitate an update of its database. AMATO noted that the data collation, supervised by a committee led by Alhaji Gani Femisun, will help improve service delivery and targeted interventions for truckers.

The leadership further advised drivers to comply strictly with safety regulations, avoid drug abuse, and maintain responsible conduct on the roads.
