IGP Egbetokun Appoints AIG Tunji Disu to Lead Force CID Annex, Alagbon
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new AIG in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.
The posting, which takes immediate effect, was approved on Monday, February 2, 2026, according to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
Prior to the new appointment, AIG Disu served as the AIG in charge of the Special Protection Unit (SPU), where he played a key role in coordinating high-level protective security operations.
AIG Disu is a seasoned police officer with an extensive career spanning several strategic commands and formations across the country. He previously served as Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command as well as the Rivers State Command, among other notable assignments.
He was promoted and decorated with the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police on March 25, 2025, in recognition of his experience, leadership capacity and contributions to internal security and policing in Nigeria.
The Force CID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, is a critical investigative arm of the Nigeria Police Force, handling high-profile and sensitive criminal cases. AIG Disu’s redeployment is expected to further strengthen investigative efficiency and operational effectiveness at the facility.
