Police Service Commission Strengthens Strategic Partnerships with NDPC and Borno State Guidance Board

Abuja, Nigeria — The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reinforced its commitment to strategic collaboration and institutional excellence following visits from two key delegations at its Abuja headquarters on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.
The first delegation was from the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), led by National Commissioner/CEO Dr. Vincent Olatunji. The discussion focused on implementing the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, recognizing the PSC as a major processor of sensitive personnel data. Dr. Olatunji emphasized the importance of safeguarding data from unauthorized access and pledged the NDPC’s support in training PSC staff on data privacy and protection.
Responding, PSC Chairman DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, commended the NDPC for its achievements and affirmed the Commission’s readiness for closer partnership. He noted, “Data is everything,” highlighting the critical role of data protection in enhancing the PSC’s operations.
Earlier, the PSC also hosted a delegation from the Borno State Guidance and Counseling Board (BSGCB), led by Chairman Dr. Tahiru Shettima and Executive Secretary Professor Mohammed Abba Jemme. The delegation sought collaboration to ensure that only credible individuals of unquestionable character from Borno State are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force. They also lauded the PSC leadership for introducing innovative measures in the police recruitment process.

Chairman Argungu welcomed the initiative, assuring the delegation of the PSC’s continued commitment to merit-based, transparent, and inclusive recruitment. He reiterated the Commission’s dedication to fostering a professional, disciplined, and accountable Police Force.
These engagements underscore PSC’s proactive efforts to strengthen partnerships, enhance governance, and improve service delivery within Nigeria’s policing system.
