Zenith Bank Disowns AI-Doctored Video Linking Chairman Jim Ovia to ‘Wealth Bridge’ Investment Scheme

Zenith Bank PLC has issued a strong disclaimer distancing its Group Chairman,Jim Ovia , from a fraudulent investment scheme known as “Wealth Bridge,” warning the public to disregard a circulating AI-doctored video falsely portraying him as endorsing the platform.

The management of Zenith Bank Plc has alerted members of the public to a series of fake videos and promotional materials circulating on social media, which falsely claim that its Group Chairman, Dr. Jim Ovia, CFR, is promoting an investment scheme called “Wealth Bridge.”

In a disclaimer issued on Tuesday, the bank described the video—shared via a Facebook handle identified as “Greece Island”—as doctored and entirely fraudulent. The bank categorically denied any affiliation with the scheme or its promoters.

According to the statement, the video promises unsuspecting individuals up to N2 million in weekly returns on a N380,000 investment contribution. It also falsely claims endorsement by the (CBN).

Zenith Bank clarified that neither the bank nor its chairman has any knowledge of, or connection with, the alleged investment platform. It further dismissed claims that the scheme is linked to the bank or approved by regulators.

“The claim is entirely false and has no connection whatsoever to the Group Chairman, the Bank, or any of its affiliate companies,” the statement read.

The bank also disclosed that the fraudulent video redirects viewers to a purported webpage containing fabricated details of the scheme and an embedded registration portal for sign-ups. Zenith Bank stressed that this claim is equally false.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all the videos and promotional materials referenced above are FAKE and have nothing to do with Zenith Bank Plc or Dr. Jim Ovia,” the statement added.

The financial institution warned that individuals who engage with the “Greece Island” handle or entities such as “Wealth Bridge,” “delicious sitee,” “AfriQuantumX,” and “Stock market analyst 1” based on the fake videos do so at their own risk.

Zenith Bank urged the public to remain vigilant and verify investment opportunities through official channels to avoid falling victim to fraudsters exploiting artificial intelligence and digital platforms to perpetrate scams.
