JTI Nigeria Marks International Women’s Day 2026, Reaffirms Commitment to Gender Equity and Inclusive Leadership
Japan Tobacco International Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to gender equity and inclusive leadership as it joined the global community to commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, highlighting the importance of empowering women in the workplace and expanding opportunities for female leadership.
The Nigerian arm of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) said it remains focused on fostering an inclusive workplace culture that promotes fairness, merit, and equal opportunity for all employees.
Speaking to mark the global celebration, the General Manager of JTI Nigeria, Abdallah Simba, noted that empowering women is not only a social responsibility but also a key driver of sustainable business growth.
According to him, organisations that provide equal access to leadership opportunities and professional development for women often benefit from stronger teams, broader perspectives, and improved decision-making.
“Empowering women in the workplace is not only the right thing to do, it also strengthens organisations. When women have equal access to opportunities, leadership pathways and professional development, businesses benefit from broader perspectives, stronger teams and better decision-making,” Simba said.
He added that JTI Nigeria continues to prioritise policies and programmes that support employee development and well-being as part of its wider commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The company noted that it has been recognised as a Top Global Employer for ten consecutive years, reflecting its sustained investment in initiatives aimed at building an enabling work environment.

Simba said the annual commemoration of International Women’s Day provides an opportunity for organisations to assess progress made in promoting gender equality while reinforcing commitments to closing existing gaps.
