Lagos Speaker Obasa Rallies State Support for First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on state governments across Nigeria to support the developmental programmes of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, noting that the initiatives are designed to expand opportunities for vulnerable women and youths nationwide.

Obasa made the call during a chat with State House correspondents after a meeting with the First Lady at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to him, ongoing interventions under the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative are already making meaningful impacts in critical sectors, particularly in improving the welfare of the less privileged.

The Speaker said that with stronger collaboration and support from subnational governments, more vulnerable women and youths across the country would benefit from the programme.

Obasa commended the First Lady for what he described as her transformative efforts in promoting social development, adding that state governments should leverage the momentum generated by the initiative to implement sustainable programmes that directly improve the lives of citizens.

He further disclosed that his visit to the First Lady was also to extend warm regards during the overlapping period of Ramadan and Lent, describing the season as a time for reflection, unity, and compassion.

The meeting, he said, provided an opportunity to appreciate the First Lady’s commitment to humanitarian causes and national development.
