LSSTF Donates Operational Vehicle to Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Lagos Command
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated an operational vehicle to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Lagos State Command, to strengthen community-based security operations and intelligence gathering across Lagos.
The donation fulfills a pledge earlier made by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Ayodele Ogunsan, when the leadership of the VGN Lagos Command paid a courtesy visit to the Fund’s headquarters in Ikeja.
During the meeting, Ogunsan reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting credible community policing initiatives that complement the work of conventional security agencies in the state.
“We will revive you in Lagos. By Friday, we will give you an operational vehicle,” Ogunsan assured the group during the visit.
The vehicle was later presented by the Director of Administration of the LSSTF, Adegbola Lewis, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.
It was received by the State Commander of the VGN Lagos Command, Sesan Oguntunde, alongside other senior officers of the command.
Members of the Commander’s entourage included Deputy Commander, DC Ogunbowale Taofiki; Deputy Commander, DC Olushola Awe; Assistant Commander (Administration), AC Ashafa Opeyemi; and Assistant Commander (Intelligence), AC Ekundayo Gabriel.
Speaking after receiving the vehicle, Commander Oguntunde expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for the support, noting that the gesture would significantly improve the command’s operational capacity.
The vehicle is expected to enhance the mobility of the VGN Lagos Command, enabling its operatives to respond more swiftly to security concerns within communities and further support law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and public safety across the state.
