Fraud Alert: Scammers Impersonate Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede on WhatsApp to Promote Fake Investment Scheme
A fresh wave of cyber fraud has emerged as scammers impersonate the Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, to lure unsuspecting victims into a fake investment scheme on WhatsApp.
Fraudsters have reportedly created a WhatsApp group named “Value Focus Club 60,” operating with the phone number +234 915 708 8290, and are using the image of the Access Holdings chairman to give the scheme a false sense of legitimacy.
According to information made available by a whistleblower, the perpetrators are targeting individuals with promises of investment opportunities, a tactic commonly used in digital financial scams to harvest personal and banking details.
However, it has been firmly clarified that Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede is not affiliated with any WhatsApp-based investment group. Similarly, Access Holdings Plc does not provide investment advisory services via WhatsApp or similar messaging platforms.
The development underscores growing concerns over identity theft and social engineering tactics being deployed by cybercriminals to exploit public trust in high-profile corporate figures.
The company is reportedly taking steps to shut down the fraudulent operation, but members of the public are urged to remain vigilant.
