JMG Limited, Jamara Home Host Maiden Staff Sporting Festival to Boost Team Spirit and Workplace Culture
JMG Limited and Jamara Home have reinforced their commitment to employee wellbeing and workplace cohesion with the successful hosting of their maiden Staff Sporting Festival, a high-energy initiative held to mark the Easter season and promote unity across their workforce.
In a vibrant demonstration of corporate culture and employee engagement, JMG Limited and Jamara Home, in collaboration with their branches of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and the Steel and Engineering Workers' Union of Nigeria (SEWUN), brought staff together for a day of sporting and recreational activities designed to strengthen interpersonal connections beyond the office environment.
The festival featured a variety of activities including football, chess, and board games, creating a relaxed atmosphere where employees from different departments interacted, competed, and bonded. Participants were grouped into four teams, each displaying enthusiasm, team spirit, and a shared sense of purpose throughout the event.
Beyond the competition, the initiative served as a platform for fostering collaboration and reinforcing internal relationships. Staff described the experience as both refreshing and rewarding, noting that it provided an opportunity to step away from daily routines, recharge, and engage colleagues in a more informal setting.
Chief Commercial Officer, Rabi Jammal, highlighted the broader significance of the event, stating that the festival went beyond winning or losing. According to him, the initiative was centered on connection, shared energy, and the collective spirit demonstrated by employees, adding that such moments contribute meaningfully to strengthening the organisation as a whole.
Also speaking, Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, emphasizing that strong relationships remain the foundation of any successful organisation. She noted that initiatives like the sporting festival play a critical role in boosting morale and reinforcing the value placed on employees.
The success of the maiden edition underscores the shared vision of both organisations to cultivate a workplace culture where employees feel valued, connected, and motivated. It also reflects a growing recognition of the importance of employee wellbeing in driving productivity and organisational success.
Jamara Home offers a wide range of consumer products including televisions, refrigerators, audio systems, gas cookers, air conditioners, washing machines, and power solutions, while JMG Limited specializes in power generation, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, vertical transportation, and renewable energy solutions.
As both organisations look to the future, they reaffirm their commitment to initiatives that promote collaboration, inclusivity, and a strong sense of belonging, reinforcing the idea that when employees are connected, teams—and ultimately organisations—thrive.
