Providus Bank Opens Ekiti Branch, Signals Nationwide Expansion Drive

Providus Bank Plc has commissioned a new branch in Ado-Ekiti, reinforcing its expansion strategy and commitment to deepening financial inclusion across Nigeria’s emerging economic hubs.

The new branch, unveiled in the Ekiti State capital, marks another milestone in the bank’s steady push into key growth markets. The move follows the bank’s compliance with the recapitalisation requirements set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which it reportedly met as early as January 2025.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Deoye Ojuroye, described the expansion as part of a deliberate and structured growth plan aimed at strengthening the bank’s national presence within the next year.

According to him, Providus Bank’s expansion strategy is focused on supporting real economic activity, particularly by improving access to banking services for businesses and individuals in underserved locations.

Ojuroye emphasised that the bank’s strong capital base and disciplined risk management framework have positioned it for sustainable growth, noting that it remains well-capitalised within its regulatory category.

He added that the bank intends to roll out additional branches in strategic locations over the next 12 months, as part of efforts to enhance accessibility, scale operations, and deliver long-term value to customers.

With the Ekiti expansion, Providus Bank continues to position itself as a reliable financial partner, leveraging its capital strength to drive inclusive growth and support enterprise development across the country.
