World Health Day 2026: Aroyewun Urges Residents to Embrace Science-Based Healthcare in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has called on residents to adopt science-based healthcare practices as part of activities marking this year’s World Health Day 2026.
In a goodwill message issued on Monday, Aroyewun extended warm greetings to households, traders, students, and all residents across the LCDA, emphasizing that good health begins with individual responsibility and informed decision-making.
Referencing the 2026 theme, “Together for Health, Stand with Science: Appropriate Health Seeking Behaviour,” the council boss stressed the need for residents to rely on verified medical information and professional healthcare services rather than unverified claims and rumours.
He noted that building a healthy society requires a collective commitment to preventive care, including regular medical check-ups and early intervention, which he described as more effective and cost-efficient than treating advanced illnesses.
Aroyewun also reassured residents of the readiness of primary healthcare facilities within the LCDA, stating that they are adequately equipped to provide essential medical services to the community.
He urged residents to take proactive steps toward their wellbeing, adding that improved public health outcomes depend on cooperation between individuals, healthcare providers, and government institutions.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising the health and wellbeing of residents, calling for sustained community support in fostering a healthier and more resilient Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
