The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has congratulated children across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing them as the “bright stars of our nation.”

In a statement made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the Nigeria Police Force celebrated the resilience, dreams, and potential of Nigerian children while reaffirming its commitment to creating a safer environment for them.

“Today, the Nigeria Police Force celebrates the innocence, dreams, courage, and limitless potential of every Nigerian child. May your laughter remain loud, your future remain bright, and your dreams know no boundaries,” the statement read.

The police high command noted that the safety, protection, and wellbeing of children remain a priority, stressing the importance of building a society where every child can learn, grow, and thrive without fear.

According to the statement, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to promoting a safer, kinder, and more secure Nigeria for children across the country.

“Every child matters. Every dream counts. Every future deserves protection,” the statement added.

The IGP also encouraged children to remain hopeful, focused, and committed to pursuing their aspirations as future leaders of the nation.
