LASTCOC Endorses Meranda for Another Term, Backs Hamzat, Tinubu for 2027

The Lagos State Truck and Cargo Operators Committee (LASTCOC) has endorsed the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, for a second term representing Apapa Constituency 1 ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

In a statement issued on Friday, the group described Meranda as a responsible and reliable representative whose performance has earned her the confidence and support of the people of the constituency.

According to the committee, Meranda’s victory at the recently concluded party primaries was a clear indication of the trust reposed in her by party members and constituents alike.

The group also expressed optimism that the lawmaker would not only retain her seat in 2027 but also emerge as the Speaker of the 11th Lagos State House of Assembly.

LASTCOC stated that it would mobilise truck drivers, motor boys, and members across the transport and cargo sector to support Meranda during the general elections to ensure her victory at the polls.

The committee further declared support for the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, expressing confidence in his emergence as the next governor of the state.

The group equally pledged total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, reaffirming its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress.

The statement was signed by Comrade Shola Omolola, a member of LASTCOC, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Lukmon Shittu, popularly known as Zangalo.
