Nigerian Navy Commissions Renovated Primary School Project in Adamawa

The Nigerian Navy has commissioned a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project at Mayo-Belwa Central Primary School in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State as part of efforts to support education and community development.

The project, commissioned on Thursday, 7 May 2026, by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, comprised six renovated classroom blocks, newly constructed toilet facilities, a solar-powered lighting system, tables, chairs, and learning materials.

The intervention was facilitated in honour of the Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral Abdulhamid Baba-Inna, as a contribution to the development of his hometown and the people of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

Represented at the event by the Director of Veteran Affairs, Rear Admiral Raheem Taofeeq, the Chief of the Naval Staff said the project was in line with the Nigerian Navy’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project.

He explained that the initiative also supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda while providing an avenue for the Nigerian Navy to recognise and honour distinguished senior officers for their contributions to national service.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Special Guest of Honour, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, represented by Ardo Bamanga Dalil, commended the Chief of the Naval Staff for the intervention, describing the project as a significant contribution that would positively impact primary education in the area.

In his remarks, Rear Admiral Baba-Inna expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff for providing the platform for the intervention and the opportunity to give back to his community.

The commissioning ceremony attracted top government officials from Adamawa State, senior military officers, heads of paramilitary agencies, and traditional rulers.
