Sanwo-Olu Receives AIG Zone 2 Jimoh in Ikeja, Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthened Security Collaboration in Lagos
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, May 11, 2026, received the newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Olorundare Moshood Jimoh, on a courtesy visit at the State House, Ikeja, where both parties reaffirmed commitment to enhanced security collaboration, sustained peace, and improved policing across Lagos and neighbouring Ogun State under the Zone 2 jurisdiction.
During the high-level engagement, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, alongside senior government officials and top police officers, emphasized the importance of a unified approach to maintaining security, stability, and public safety in the state. He called for stronger inter-agency cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges.
Governor Sanwo-Olu welcomed the AIG and reiterated his administration’s continued support for security agencies, stressing the need to deepen operational synergy to sustain Lagos’ reputation as one of Nigeria’s most secure and economically vibrant states.
The meeting also featured the exchange of souvenirs between the Governor and the AIG, symbolizing mutual respect and partnership.
Among senior police officers present were the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Fatai Tijani; Deputy Commissioners of Police B.A. Mohammed and Hakeem Ajasa; DC Administration, Lagos Command, DCP Khan Salihu; ACP Mary Ayim, among other senior officers who attended the strategic engagement.
