Workers’ Day 2026: Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairman Aroyewun Salutes Workers, Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Development
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has extended warm greetings to residents as Nigeria marks Workers’ Day 2026, commending the resilience and contributions of workers across the community while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and development.
In a goodwill message to commemorate May Day and the beginning of a new month, Aroyewun described Workers’ Day as a significant moment to honour the dignity of labour and recognise the vital role played by citizens in driving economic and social progress. He praised traders, artisans, civil servants, professionals, entrepreneurs, and youths for their dedication and unwavering belief in a better future.
The council boss noted that the strength of any society lies in the collective efforts of its people, adding that the contributions of residents in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA continue to sustain homes, strengthen communities, and promote local economic advancement.
Reiterating his administration’s development agenda, Aroyewun said the council remains focused on delivering policies and programmes that improve livelihoods and enhance the overall well-being of residents. According to him, the GLORY Agenda will continue to guide initiatives targeted at infrastructure development, healthcare improvement, youth empowerment, and community growth.
He emphasised that governance at the grassroots must be people-centred, stressing that the success of leadership is ultimately measured by the impact it has on the lives of citizens. He assured residents that his administration would not relent in ensuring that development reaches every part of the LCDA.
The chairman also used the opportunity to call for unity and shared responsibility among residents, urging them to continue working together towards building a cleaner, safer, and more prosperous community.
He expressed optimism that the month of May would bring renewed strength, fresh opportunities, and blessings to residents, while encouraging continued collaboration between the government and the people.
