Lagos NDLEA Receives Protective Gear from LSSTF to Boost Anti-Drug Operations
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has received operational safety equipment, including bulletproof jackets and protective helmets, from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) to strengthen its fight against illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The donation was formally presented on Tuesday by the Director of Administration of the LSSTF, Mr. Degbola Lewis, to the Strategic Commander of the NDLEA Lagos Strategic Command, Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN) Abubakar Liman Wali.
Speaking during the presentation, Lewis noted that the protective equipment would significantly enhance the safety and effectiveness of NDLEA operatives while carrying out their duties in combating drug-related crimes across Lagos State.
According to him, the gesture underscores the commitment of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund to supporting security agencies through the provision of critical operational logistics and equipment.
In his response, ACGN Wali expressed profound appreciation to the LSSTF for the donation, describing it as a timely intervention that would improve the operational capacity and safety of officers engaged in sensitive enforcement and anti-narcotics operations.
The commander commended the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF and his team for their sustained support to security agencies in Lagos, noting that such partnerships remain vital in addressing security challenges and safeguarding communities.
He assured the LSSTF that the donated items would be judiciously utilized for their intended purpose and would contribute significantly to the command’s efforts in curbing illicit drug trafficking and abuse within the state.
The presentation further highlights the collaborative approach between security stakeholders and government-supported institutions in enhancing public safety and strengthening law enforcement operations across Lagos State.
