NAOSNP Mourns Death of Lagos Police DCP Administration, Khan Salihu

LAGOS — The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Administration, Lagos State Command, DCP Khan Salihu, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, after a brief illness.

In a statement issued by the association's Public Relations Officer, Eric Elezuo, on behalf of NAOSNP President, Mayor Samson Oki, the body conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Police Command, and the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Fatai Tijani, describing the late officer as a consummate professional whose dedication to duty earned him widespread respect.

The association noted that DCP Salihu distinguished himself through discipline, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to public service, adding that he approached his responsibilities with integrity and fairness throughout his career.

“With hearts filled with grief but total submission to the will of Almighty God, we, members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), commiserate with the entire Nigeria Police Force family, particularly the Lagos State Command and its Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, over the passing of DCP Khan Salihu,” the statement read.

According to NAOSNP, the late officer was renowned for his professionalism, humility, and dedication to strengthening the security architecture of Lagos State and the nation at large.

“DCP Salihu was a disciplined officer whose stock-in-trade revolved around professionalism, stewardship, and a strong commitment to delivering effective security and safety services. He served diligently and remained committed to his duties until his passing while in active service.

“He was an exceptionally professional senior officer, humble, disciplined, media-friendly, and always willing to offer support whenever needed.

“The Police hierarchy and the entire Nigerian media community will sincerely miss him. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him Aljannatul Firdaus,” the association stated.

NAOSNP further prayed for strength and comfort for the deceased's family, colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult period.

The Lagos State Police Command had earlier described the late DCP as a dedicated officer whose service record was marked by humility, professionalism, and selfless commitment to the Nigeria Police Force.

“DCP Khan Salihu will be fondly remembered for his dedication, humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation and the Nigeria Police Force. His legacy of service and commitment will continue to inspire officers and men of the Command,” the command stated.

The late DCP Salihu was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
