LAGOS, NIGERIA — The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration at the Lagos State Command, describing the late officer as an exceptional gentleman whose life embodied professionalism, humility, and dedicated service.
In a condolence message issued following the officer’s passing, Dr. Ogunsan extended his sympathies to the family of the deceased, the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, as well as the entire Nigeria Police Force.
He described the death of DCP Salihu as a significant loss to the policing and security architecture of Lagos State, noting that the late officer earned widespread respect through his exemplary conduct and commitment to duty.
“We have lost an angel,” Dr. Ogunsan said. “DCP Khan Salihu was one of the finest officers I had the privilege of knowing. He was cultured, extremely kind, humble, and always willing to assist others. He treated everyone with dignity and respect, irrespective of status or position.”
According to the LSSTF CEO, the late DCP distinguished himself throughout his career through unwavering loyalty, dedication, and professionalism, earning the confidence and trust of the leadership of the Lagos State Police Command.
Dr. Ogunsan noted that DCP Salihu remained a dependable figure within the command structure, consistently demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.
He further praised the late officer’s outstanding interpersonal skills, describing him as a bridge-builder who maintained cordial relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public.
“His professionalism was exemplary, but beyond that, he was a genuinely good man and a lover of God. His passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill,” he stated.
The LSSTF boss added that DCP Salihu would be remembered for his honourable service, integrity, and positive impact on countless lives within and beyond the policing community.
While praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased officer’s soul, Dr. Ogunsan urged family members, friends, and colleagues to find comfort in the enduring legacy of service, compassion, and excellence that he leaves behind.
He emphasized that the Lagos security community would continue to cherish the memory of DCP Khan Salihu as a dedicated officer who served his country with distinction and touched many lives through his kindness and unwavering commitment to duty.
