LAGOS, Nigeria – Airtel Nigeria has expanded its nationwide retail and distribution network, growing its presence to more than 4,000 exclusive Airtel shops and over 200,000 retail touchpoints across the country in a move aimed at improving customer access to telecommunications and digital services.
The telecommunications company said the expanded retail ecosystem is part of its continued investment in enhancing service delivery and making its products and services more accessible to millions of Nigerians.
According to the company, the retail network comprises exclusive Airtel shops, partner stores, channel partners and neighbourhood agents, enabling subscribers to conveniently access services such as SIM registration, device purchases, airtime and data recharge, customer support, and other digital solutions.
Speaking on the company's retail distribution strategy, the Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Dinesh Balsingh, said the investment reflects the company's commitment to bringing its services closer to customers nationwide.
"Telecommunications goes beyond the physical infrastructure. It is important that we are able to reach people where they live and work. That is why we continue to invest in a strong retail and distribution ecosystem that enables us to bring Airtel closer to our customers while delivering a consistent, high-quality experience wherever they are," Balsingh said.
Also commenting, Airtel Nigeria's Director of Sales and Distribution, Joypratip Sengupta, described the company's distribution network as a critical component of seamless service delivery.
"Our retail network is designed to ensure that our services reach customers efficiently. It is a combination of efficient logistics systems, strong partnerships and local engagement that enables us to consistently meet the needs of our customers across the country," Sengupta said.
Airtel noted that the strengthened distribution strategy complements its ongoing investments in network infrastructure and digital innovation, with customer proximity remaining a key factor in delivering quality service and promoting digital inclusion.
The company added that its extensive retail ecosystem is also creating economic opportunities for thousands of entrepreneurs, distributors, retailers and small business owners who form part of its value chain.
As demand for reliable and accessible digital services continues to rise across Nigeria, Airtel said it remains committed to expanding its investments to improve service delivery and ensure subscribers enjoy quality telecommunications services.
