 Lagos Police Arrest 150 Suspects, Recover 100 Unregistered Motorcycles, Firearms in Major Crackdown

 The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects and recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms, suspected stolen property and illicit drugs during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts in the Igando-Idimu area as part of its ongoing "Operation KO S'AYE."

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities with the arrest of 150 suspects and the recovery of 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms, suspected stolen property and illicit drugs during a major raid in the Igando-Idimu area of the state.

The operation, conducted under the Command's ongoing Operation KO S'AYE, targeted suspected criminal hideouts and black spots identified through intelligence gathering.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin? Wait, no—signed by SP Abimbola Adebisi on behalf of the Command, the coordinated raid was carried out at about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, by a joint team of operatives drawn from different formations of the Lagos State Police Command.

The raid focused on criminal hideouts located at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis, with the objective of flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements allegedly terrorising the communities.

During the operation, police arrested a total of 150 suspects.

Items recovered from the suspects and the locations include 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel short gun, two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and various quantities of illicit drugs.

The Command said all the suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue to determine their individual roles in the alleged criminal activities. It added that those found culpable would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Commending the operatives for what he described as their professionalism and dedication, the Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, reaffirmed the Command's commitment to sustaining Operation KO S'AYE across Lagos State.

He said the operation would continue until criminal elements are denied safe havens and residents can enjoy improved security.

The Commissioner also appealed to members of the public to support the Police by providing timely and credible information that would aid the identification of criminal hideouts, the arrest of offenders and the enhancement of public safety across the state.
