LSSTF Donates Raincoats to 9 Brigade Nigerian Army to Boost Troops' Operational Readiness in Lagos

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated raincoats to officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army's 9 Brigade in Ikeja, Lagos, as part of efforts to improve the welfare and operational effectiveness of military personnel during the rainy season and strengthen security across the state.

As the rainy season intensifies across Lagos, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has reinforced its support for security agencies by donating raincoats to personnel of the Nigerian Army's 9 Brigade, Ikeja, to enhance their operational readiness.

The presentation was made during a working visit by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Brigade Headquarters in Ikeja.

The event was attended by the Commander, 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi; the Brigade Chief of Staff, Colonel C. B. Anaukwu; Major Samuel Osaremen Omijie; and other senior military officers.

During the visit, troops of the Brigade paraded in the bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets previously donated by the LSSTF, underscoring the Lagos State Government's sustained commitment to equipping frontline security personnel with modern protective gear.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Ogunsan said the raincoats were intended to complement the earlier donation of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests, ensuring that soldiers remain adequately protected while carrying out their duties in all weather conditions.

"The raincoats were provided to complement the earlier donation of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests. Through this intervention, we continue to demonstrate our resolve to ensure that officers remain adequately equipped to carry out their constitutional responsibilities regardless of weather conditions," he said.

Responding, Brigadier General Owolabi expressed appreciation to the LSSTF and its Executive Secretary for the visit and the organisation's consistent support for the Nigerian Army over the years. He also presented a souvenir to Dr. Ogunsan in recognition of the Trust Fund's contributions to the Brigade.

The donation forms part of the LSSTF's broader strategy to strengthen the operational capacity of security agencies through the provision of critical equipment, logistics and welfare support.

The initiative further reflects the enduring collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces in promoting peace, enhancing security and sustaining public confidence across Lagos State.
