PSC Releases Names of Successful Candidates for Recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the names of successful candidates recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables, directing applicants who participated in the recently concluded written examination to check their status on the official recruitment portal from Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) said the recruitment exercise, which will see 50,000 new constables join the Nigeria Police Force, followed what it described as a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent process conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the Commission, Torty Njoku Kalu, the recruitment exercise was carried out in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.

The Commission advised all candidates who sat for the written examination to log on to the official recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to confirm their recruitment status.

It added that successful applicants would also receive notifications via the email addresses and phone numbers provided during the application process.

The PSC stated that successful candidates would be required to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times to be communicated later for medical examination and documentation.

It warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who do not pass the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team would be disqualified from the training programme.

According to the Commission, candidates are expected to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original copies and photocopies of their academic certificates, as well as other documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.

PSC Chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's security architecture.

Argungu urged the successful candidates to regard their appointment as a call to serve the country with dignity, integrity and unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians.
