Lagos Transportation Commissioner, CP Moshood Jimoh Discuss Security Collaboration

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, earlier today received the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, and his delegation during a courtesy visit at the Ministry of Transportation, Alausa, Ikeja.

During the meeting, Commissioner Osiyemi applauded the CP and his team for their proactive security strategies and expressed the Ministry's willingness to deepen collaboration with the Lagos State Police Command in ensuring safer transport corridors across the state.

Highlighting key transport hubs including Ojota, Apapa, and the Oshodi Bus Terminals—the largest transport hub in Africa—Mr. Osiyemi urged the police to enhance security coverage in these critical areas to ensure the safety of commuters and transport operators.

In his remarks, CP Moshood Jimoh emphasized the centrality of transportation to societal development, noting that it requires continuous oversight and strategic management. He outlined some of the new initiatives spearheaded by the Lagos State Police Command to address transport-related security challenges.

Among these, he mentioned the “Eko Strike Force,” a tactical unit designed to boost public safety across the metropolis, and the “Lagos Blue Line Squad,” tasked with enforcing regulations along the state’s Blue Line rail system. The CP also hinted at additional programs currently in development to further bolster transportation security.

He assured the Ministry of the Police Command’s commitment to deploying technical expertise and innovation to tackle security concerns effectively.

Present at the meeting were senior directors from the Ministry of Transportation, who also reiterated support for enhanced inter-agency collaboration to maintain law and order across Lagos State’s transport infrastructure.
