Glo Partners Osun Government on Seamless Communication for Civil Servants

Globacom has entered into a strategic partnership with the Osun State Government to provide 20,000 Closed User Group (CUG) lines for civil servants, local government staff, teachers, and political appointees across the state.

The initiative, tagged “Imole Connect”, was launched on Wednesday in Osogbo, the state capital, and is aimed at fostering seamless communication within the state’s public service.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke commended Globacom for its investment and commitment to Osun’s digital transformation agenda. He expressed confidence that the scheme would not only bridge communication gaps but also enhance the efficiency and productivity of civil servants.

“With the launch of 20,000 Glo Imole Connect lines today, we are taking a bold step towards improving our public servants’ linkage across the state. These lines, operating under a closed user group arrangement, come with significantly reduced call and data rates,” the governor said.

Adeleke noted that one of the major challenges of governance has been the lack of efficient communication among agencies and officers, which often results in delays and disconnections. He assured that the new arrangement would strengthen inter-agency collaboration and ensure smoother government operations.

Globacom’s National Head of Enterprise Business Group, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting Osun State in service delivery through enhanced digital communication.

“Globacom has evolved from being just a telecommunications company to a digital solutions provider. We now offer enterprise solutions to large organisations, government and public sector agencies to drive the digital economy and the operations of smart cities across sub-nationals,” Odejobi stated.

The Imole Connect scheme is expected to serve as a communication backbone for the Osun State workforce, strengthening synergy across ministries, departments, and agencies.
