Progressives Group Commends Sanwo-Olu, Ojelabi for Successful APC Stakeholders Meeting

The Progressives Group has lauded Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, for convening a highly successful stakeholders’ meeting that brought together party leaders and public officeholders across all levels.

The landmark meeting, held on October 21, 2025, at Eko Hotels and Suites, witnessed the presence of past governors, serving and former lawmakers at the state and national levels, party chieftains, and key stakeholders. It was described as a bold and timely initiative aimed at strengthening the party’s internal cohesion and ensuring accountability among public officials in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Progressives Group, Hon. Wusu Shakiru Ajiyon, and the Publicity Secretary, Prince Adewale Samson, the group expressed delight over the outcome of the meeting, describing it as a major step toward consolidating democratic governance and enhancing party unity in Lagos State.

The statement outlined key highlights of the meeting, including:
(A) The endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general election.
(B) The dissemination of information on the achievements of the Tinubu administration and its commitment to progressive governance.
(C) A renewed push for a voter registration drive, with announced incentives — ₦1 million for the top-performing polling unit, ₦5 million for the best-performing ward, and ₦20 million for the leading local government area.
(D) Mobilisation strategies for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The Progressives Group emphasized that such stakeholder engagements should become a continuous process to review progress, address challenges, and formulate strategic solutions for improvement.

The group also reaffirmed its support for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, noting that Lagos’ sustained growth and stability are products of unity, courage, and visionary leadership.

“What we witnessed at Eko Hotel was more than a political gathering — it was a convergence of hope, strategy, and continuity,” the statement read. “When leaders listen, engage, and act with purpose, citizens begin to dream again of a better future.”

The Progressives Group further pledged to collaborate with the APC leadership on grassroots sensitization and mobilisation efforts for both the state and presidential elections in 2027.

“We are ready and committed to the progress and advancement of our dear state. We will continue to offer ideas and solutions that will ensure a better and more prosperous Lagos,” the statement concluded.
