PTML Customs Records ₦424.5bn Revenue as COWA Donates Food Items to Women, Children

The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded a total revenue collection of ₦424.58 billion as of Friday, December 12, 2025.

The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this at the 2025 end-of-year celebration organised by the Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter.

Comptroller Anani explained that the figure represents a significant improvement over the command’s total revenue of ₦362.5 billion recorded in 2024, exceeding it by more than ₦62 billion even before the end of the year.

He attributed the improved performance to operational reforms and expressed optimism that revenue generation would further increase with the full implementation of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.

Describing 2025 as an eventful year marked by notable achievements, Anani said the command, under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD, is poised to achieve a one-hour clearance time for compliant Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) cargoes in 2026.

On anti-smuggling efforts, the Area Controller highlighted the command’s successes in intercepting illicit and expired drugs, arms and ammunition, and other prohibited items capable of endangering public safety.

He particularly lauded the seizure of cocaine valued at ₦29.4 billion, which was subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), describing it as a major anti-smuggling breakthrough.

Anani attributed the command’s achievements to the strong collaboration and support received from government and private sector stakeholders. He specifically appreciated the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and other sister agencies.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairperson of COWA, PTML Chapter, Mrs Caroline Ifeoluwa Anani, described the end-of-year party as a reflection of the command’s enduring culture of unity and togetherness.

She noted that 2025 was highly impactful for COWA, stating that the association played a supportive role in enhancing productivity within the command, as a stable home environment contributes significantly to workforce efficiency.

Mrs Anani recalled that during the year, COWA organised several welfare initiatives, including mental health awareness programmes, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, eye screening and treatment, as well as the donation of medicated glasses.

She added that the association also held seminars on home management, food and nutrition, and family care products, while providing souvenirs to the spouses of Customs officers at the command.

The highlight of the event was the donation of food items to women and children by the COWA PTML Chairperson, in the spirit of the Christmas season.
