Dele Momodu Set to Formally Join ADC in Benin, Says Coalition Is Nigeria’s Best Hope

Renowned journalist, publisher and entrepreneur, Chief Dele Momodu, is set to formally declare his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a high-profile event scheduled to hold in Benin City, Edo State.

The declaration ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2025, at the New ADC State Secretariat on Ogbelaka Road, Benin City. The event is expected to attract leading figures within the ADC as well as political stakeholders from across the country.

Speaking exclusively to The Boss, Momodu described the ADC coalition as a timely and divinely inspired platform capable of restoring hope and good governance to Nigerians. He noted that his decision to join the party followed his earlier exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he said had been plagued by prolonged internal crises.

“Our coming together is divine and has opened the path for the restoration of life and dignity for Nigerians,” Momodu said. “ADC represents readiness to reclaim what rightfully belongs to us as a people and to rescue the nation from over a decade of oppressive rule.”

A former presidential candidate and aspirant, Momodu brings decades of experience spanning journalism, education, media entrepreneurship, public speaking and politics. Widely regarded as a media guru and global citizen, he has played notable roles in Nigeria’s political evolution over the years.

Momodu contested the 2011 presidential election under the National Conscience Party (NCP) and later sought the PDP presidential ticket in 2022. His political journey dates back to the Second Republic, when he served as Private Secretary to Chief Akin Omoboriowo, then Deputy Governor of Ondo State. He was also actively involved in political engagements during and after the June 12, 1993 struggle.

With national leaders of the ADC expected at the event, the declaration will be broadcast live on major media platforms, including Arise News Television.

The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m.
