 LSSTF Boss Ogunsan Seeks NAF Partnership for 24/7 Drone Surveillance Across Lagos

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, has initiated talks with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on the deployment of round-the-clock drone surveillance to strengthen security monitoring across Lagos State.

Ogunsan paid a courtesy visit to the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdul Suleh, and the Commander, 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed Asuekome Imam, at the Base, Ikeja, Lagos. He was accompanied by the LSSTF Director of Administration, Mr. Degbola Lewis.

The visit focused on deepening collaboration between the LSSTF and the Nigerian Air Force to facilitate the deployment of 24-hour drone-powered aerial surveillance across the state.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Ogunsan underscored the urgency of integrating modern aerial technologies into Lagos’ security framework, noting that real-time monitoring and enhanced rapid response capabilities are critical to addressing evolving security threats.

In response, the AOC and the 651 Base Services Group Commander reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s readiness to support Lagos State’s security architecture, pledging continued partnership in safeguarding lives, property and critical infrastructure.

The engagement marks a significant step toward institutionalising continuous drone surveillance as part of a broader strategy to strengthen community safety and intelligence gathering in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The development follows a recent meeting between the Governor of Lagos State,  and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke, at Lagos House, Marina, where both parties reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration between the state government and the Nigerian Air Force in the interest of Lagos residents.
