APC Swears in Ward Executives as Ibeju-Lekki LG Screens, Inaugurates New SLG, Supervisors and Special Advisers
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has sworn in new ward chairmen and secretaries across its eleven wards, while the local government administration also screened and inaugurated newly appointed executive officials, including the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers.
The twin developments mark a significant step in strengthening political structures and grassroots governance within the local government area.
The APC swearing-in ceremony, which brought together party leaders and government officials, is aimed at consolidating the party’s grassroots structures and enhancing mobilization across the wards.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Vice Chairman, Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, the APC Lagos East Youth Senatorial Leader, Gbenga Balogun, the APC Local Government Party Chairman in Ibeju-Lekki, Aliasau Idowu Eletu, and the Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Ibeju-Lekki, Adewale Raheem Kazeem.
Party leaders at the event said the exercise reflects the APC’s commitment to strengthening internal structures and ensuring effective representation at the grassroots level in line with the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The newly sworn-in ward chairmen include Ashafa Fatima (Ward A), Openiyi Shakiru Hassan (Ward B), Ogunyemi Kafayat (Ward C1), Nosiru Wasiu Adebowale (Ward C2), Abiodun Apena (Ward D), Morufu Shefiu (Ward E), Elemoro Adewale (Ward F), Muritala Olalekan Muka (Ward G), Jubrila Moshood (Ward H), Sanwo Ahmed (Ward I), and Abass Toyin (Ward J).
Addressing the new ward leaders, Olowa congratulated them on their emergence and urged them to carry all party members along in the discharge of their responsibilities.
“This is a big responsibility which you must live up to as you are to carry every member of the party along. The founding fathers of the party have done well and it is expected that you do more to further its cause,” he said.
Also speaking, Eletu commended the ward executives for their commitment to the party and charged them to work diligently to strengthen the APC’s presence in their respective communities while promoting peaceful coexistence and development.
Legislature Screens, Executive Inaugurates Appointees
In a related development, the Legislative Arm of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government screened and confirmed nominees for key executive positions, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers.
The screening, held at the council’s legislative chambers, was conducted to assess the nominees’ qualifications, experience and vision for their respective offices, ensuring alignment with the administration’s development agenda.
Following their confirmation, the Executive Arm led by Olowa conducted the swearing-in ceremony where the officials took the oath of office and allegiance, pledging to serve with integrity and contribute to the development of the council area.
The development followed the earlier release of the list of Secretaries to Local Governments, Supervisors and Special Advisers across councils in Lagos State by the state government.
Olowa commended the legislature for its cooperation and commitment to due process, describing the exercise as an important step toward delivering effective governance at the grassroots.
“The screening and swearing-in of these capable men and women mark a new chapter in our drive to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people,” he said.
