UK-Based Woman Walks Again After One Year in Wheelchair Following Prayer at Zion Ministry in Lagos
A United Kingdom–based Nigerian woman, Christine Chika Anyanwu, says she has regained the use of her legs after spending a year in a wheelchair, following a prayer session at the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach in Lagos.
A United Kingdom–based Nigerian woman, Christine Chika Anyanwu, has shared her testimony of regaining the use of her legs after spending one year in a wheelchair.
Anyanwu recounted her experience during a service at the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach in Okota, Lagos, where she said she experienced the recovery.
According to her testimony, the health challenge began on March 26, 2025, when she suddenly collapsed at her workplace in London and lost consciousness. After medical examinations, doctors reportedly diagnosed her with Functional Neurological Disorder.
She said she spent about four months in the hospital before she was discharged to continue treatment at home. During that period, she reportedly experienced repeated falls and seizures, which she said worsened her condition and led to damage to her spine.
As a result, she became dependent on a wheelchair and mobility scooter for movement. Medical specialists she consulted in the United Kingdom reportedly informed her that the chances of walking again were very slim.
Anyanwu said she was close to losing hope before her mother advised her to seek spiritual intervention at the Lagos-based ministry. Despite opposition from some family members and a Catholic nun who reportedly cautioned her against visiting the church, and contrary to medical advice discouraging long-distance travel due to her condition, she decided to travel to Nigeria.
Her visit coincided with the ministry’s weekly Adoration programme last Wednesday. During the service, the Spiritual Director of the ministry, Chukeuebuka Anozie Obi, reportedly noticed her on a mobility scooter and offered prayers and a deliverance session.
According to eyewitness accounts shared during the programme, the woman later stood up from the scooter and began walking, drawing emotional reactions from congregants inside the auditorium.
When she returned to the altar to share her testimony, she said some of the relatives and the nun who had initially discouraged her from visiting the ministry were present and joined others in celebrating what she described as her healing.
A video of the moment, which has since circulated on social media, shows the woman walking and expressing gratitude during the service.
