Lagos APC Denies Delegate Stranding Allegation, Accuses Sahara Reporters of Misinformation

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims published by Sahara Reporters alleging that its delegates from the state were stranded due to failure to release mobilisation funds.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the APC described the report as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public.

The party maintained that all duly accredited delegates from Lagos State were transported to Abuja in an orderly and well-coordinated manner, contrary to the claims. It added that adequate accommodation and logistics were provided for the delegates upon arrival, ensuring their comfort throughout the exercise.

Oladejo further clarified that the Lagos State Government had no role in funding party activities, stressing that the APC independently manages its finances and logistics through its internal structures. He described any attempt to link the state government to such responsibilities as misleading.

The party also accused Sahara Reporters of a consistent pattern of publishing unverified and sensational claims, alleging that such reports are often driven by ulterior motives aimed at confusing the public.

“It is not surprising that such a story would emanate from a platform whose publisher is also an opposition figure holding multiple roles within his party,” the statement added, raising concerns about credibility and conflict of interest.

The Lagos APC, therefore, urged members of the public to critically evaluate news sources and rely on verified information, while reaffirming its commitment to party unity and support for good governance in Lagos State and across Nigeria.
