Sujimoto MD Pays Tribute to Late Real Estate Mogul MISA, Reflects on Entrepreneurship and Legacy
Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, Group Managing Director of Sujimoto Group, has paid a heartfelt tribute to late real estate veteran Muritala Adegboyega Ibraheem, popularly known as MISA, describing his death as a profound lesson in humility, resilience, and the true essence of entrepreneurship.
Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, the Group Managing Director of Sujimoto Group, has mourned the passing of renowned real estate entrepreneur, Muritala Adegboyega Ibraheem (MISA), highlighting his enduring impact on Nigeria’s property sector and the values he embodied throughout his career.
In a reflective statement, Ogundele recounted a defining moment in 2022 when MISA, despite being involved in a legal dispute with him, reached out to request construction materials for an ongoing project. According to him, the late developer demonstrated rare professionalism by separating business needs from personal differences.
Rather than allowing litigation to interfere, MISA reportedly prioritised the success and integrity of his project—an approach Ogundele described as a hallmark of his character.
Their relationship, though marked by competition, evolved into one of mutual respect. Ogundele recalled another encounter during a land transaction, where MISA assured him of support in securing the deal while humorously acknowledging their ongoing court battle.
He noted that beyond being a fierce competitor, MISA possessed exceptional emotional intelligence, maintaining dignity and fairness in both business and personal interactions.
Ogundele further revealed that the late developer, who had spent over three decades in Nigeria’s real estate industry, often provided guidance—even during moments of disagreement. He cited advice MISA gave him on diversifying investments beyond the luxury market, warning about the volatility of the Nigerian economy.
The Sujimoto boss also shared how MISA remained supportive during difficult periods, including moments when the company faced significant financial and operational challenges. Despite battling health issues, MISA reportedly reached out to encourage and pray for him, urging perseverance in the face of adversity.
Describing his death as a sobering reminder of life’s fragility, Ogundele emphasised that true success should not only be measured by physical developments, but also by relationships built and maintained.
He urged entrepreneurs to embrace collaboration over conflict, stressing the importance of forgiveness, humility, and purposeful competition within the business community.
“To my fellow entrepreneurs, this life is too short for prolonged conflicts. We must learn to settle differences and build together,” he stated.
Ogundele extended his condolences to MISA’s family, describing the late developer as a visionary leader and a man of integrity whose legacy transcends his achievements in real estate.
He prayed for the repose of his soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdaus and comfort those he left behind.
