NICA Honours Polaris, Union Bank CEOs and Financial Leaders with Prestigious Fellowships

The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) has conferred its prestigious Fellowship on top executives shaping Nigeria’s financial landscape, including the Managing Director/CEO of Polaris Bank, Kayode Lawal, and the Managing Director/CEO of Union Bank, Yetunde Oni. The investiture ceremony took place at the Muson Center, Lagos, celebrating excellence and professional leadership in credit administration.

Also honoured were Mrs. Olushola Momoh, Vice Chairman of Channels Television, who received the Professional Fellowship for her leadership and professional impact, and Dr. Awa Ibraheem, Founder of Xpress Payment Solutions Ltd, who was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in recognition of his contributions to Nigeria’s payments ecosystem and financial innovation.

The Fellowship represents NICA’s highest professional distinction, awarded to individuals whose leadership has significantly strengthened Nigeria’s credit environment, institutional governance frameworks, and financial system integrity.

Speaking at the ceremony, NICA representatives highlighted the importance of visionary leadership in promoting responsible credit culture and sustaining economic growth. “Mr. Kayode Lawal embodies the values of professional excellence, integrity, and strategic leadership that the Institute seeks to promote. His contributions to financial discipline and institutional governance make him deserving of this distinguished honour,” a representative said.

Kayode Lawal, who was previously conferred with the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in November 2025, expressed gratitude to NICA and reiterated his commitment to advancing professional standards in the financial sector. “This recognition serves as encouragement to continue promoting responsible financial practice, institutional integrity, and sustainable growth across the banking and credit ecosystem,” he stated.

Polaris Bank described the award as a proud milestone reflecting its ongoing dedication to professionalism, innovation, and ethical leadership. The investiture also featured formal proceedings, goodwill messages from industry leaders, and recognition of excellence across Nigeria’s credit management and financial services sector.
