Zenith Bank to Mark International Women’s Day 2026 with High-Level Seminar in Lagos
Zenith Bank has announced plans to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) with a high-level seminar aimed at advancing purposeful leadership and women’s empowerment.
The annual International Women’s Day Seminar is scheduled to hold on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and is expected to convene accomplished women and progressive leaders from across business, governance, technology, creative industries, and the social impact space.
Aligned with the global 2026 IWD theme, “Give to Gain,” the Bank has adopted the sub-theme “Take It, You Own It” for this year’s seminar. According to the organisers, the theme underscores the dual responsibility of institutions to create enabling environments and of women to step forward confidently to claim opportunities, own their value, and lead with purpose.
The 2026 edition builds on the success of previous seminars, including the 2025 programme themed “Winning On All Fronts,” which drew participation from women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for robust discussions on gender equity, professional growth, and inclusive opportunity.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, said International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that progress requires deliberate and sustained effort.
She noted that while institutions must intentionally create opportunities, women must also embrace leadership roles and take ownership of their growth journeys. According to her, the Bank remains committed to fostering environments where women are supported to thrive and shape outcomes within the organisation and in the wider communities it serves.
The seminar will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and creative interludes. Organisers say the programme is designed to provide leadership insights, promote professional empowerment, encourage wellbeing, and stimulate collaboration among participants.
Described as more than a commemorative event, the 2026 IWD seminar is positioned as a platform for influence, insight, and inspiration, reinforcing Zenith Bank’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth and sustainable impact.
Through its alignment with the “Give to Gain” theme and its call to action, “Take It, You Own It,” the Bank reiterated its belief that when institutions invest intentionally in women and women lead confidently, broader economic and social ecosystems stand to benefit.
